Maverick's newest driving opportunities are in our temperature controlled division. We are proud to be expanding into the temperature controlled market as we celebrate 36 years of success and offer potential drivers more opportunity than ever before to become a Maverick.
With safety and technology leading the way, our new temp control trailers are equipped with two-way communications, door sensors, fuel sensors, and the capability to load 46,500 pounds. As a driver, you can expect to be provided with the best training and tools available to ensure the highest level of service and success. We have customized an orientation schedule for this new division that demands the same high standards as all of our drivers.

What are the requirements to be a Maverick driver?
You must be at least 21 years old and live within the hiring area. Your driving record and hiring criteria must match up with Maverick's requirements and will be evaluated when you apply with us.
What is the best way to fill out an application?
You have several options. You can apply directly online, download an application by clicking on the printable application link or call us at 800-289-1100 and a recruiter can mail, email or fax you an application.
What if I don't have Temp Control experience?
We offer temperature control training. During training, we will teach you the way to properly use our equipment.
How does the application process work?
When you submit your application, it will be evaluated and we will contact you to review your application and begin processing. We will then order your background reports and vertify past employment. Once this process is complete, we will send your application to our hiring committee for final approval.
What is your policy on traffic tickets and criminal background?
At Maverick we have our own point system we use to evaluate your MVR. We also have a policy regarding criminal convictions and evaluate each applicant on a case-by-case basis.
How much home time do Maverick Temp Control drivers get?
Maverick Temp Control drivers get home every 14 days. Keeping in mind that this is the trucking industry and things will come up. Family is important to Maverick and this is of the highest priority.
Can my significant other ride with me? What about animals?
Maverick's passenger authorization program allows one rider at a time, 13 years of age & older and is no cost to you. We do not allow animals in our trucks.
When can I get medical benefits and how much do they cost?
Health and dental benefits are available to you the first day of the month following 60 days of employment. For example, if you are hired on May 21st, then the first of the month after this falls on June 1st; 60 days from June 1st is August 1st. So, you would be eligible for benefits on August 1st. Coverage is offered at $42.75/week for individual or $121.25/week for family. Employee + Spouse only OR Employee + Children only is $103.50/wk.
Other benefits include 401(k) + match, paid life insurance, disability insurance, employee assistance program, paid vacation time, section 125 cafeteria plan, and credit union membership.
Do I need a Hazmat endorsement?
No, Maverick only requires a Class A CDL issued in the state that you reside in.
What speed are your trucks set at?
Maverick trucks are set at 65 miles per hour.
Where are your facilities located?
Maverick's home office is located in Little Rock, AR. We have facilities in Portage, IN; Madison, IL; Green Bay, WI; Laurinburg, NC; Fort Smith, AR; Church Hill, TN; Burkburnett, TX; and Au Gres, MI.
Where will my training take place?
Maverick's Temperature Control training facility is located in Little Rock, AR. This is where you will do your training.
How long is the training for the Temp Control division?
If you have at least six month over the road in the last three years, you will complete one week of orientation and one additional day of Temp Control training. If you have less than six months over the road, you will need to complete our student training program.
What are the running lanes for Temp Control?
This division runs the Midwest, Southwest, Southeast & Northeast United States.
Will I have to get a passport?
No, we do not require a passport for this division.
Will I get to take my truck home with me?
Yes, on home time you will take the tractor home with you.
