North Little Rock, AR— March 6, 2026 — Continuing a representation of excellence and honor, Maverick is proud to announce their newest veteran tribute truck driver, Kenneth Thomas.

After joining the U.S. Army in 1987 as a light-wheel mechanic, Kenneth served honorably until 1994. Reflecting on his years in uniform, he describes it as “the best time of my life,” crediting the Army for instilling discipline, structure, and a deep sense of camaraderie that continues to shape him today.
Following military service, Kenneth wanted to find a stable career to support his growing family. So, he leaned into trucking, earning his CDL-A and eventually joining Maverick Transportation through an acquisition.
“It was an easy crossover,” he shared. “I was very comfortable here and the transition felt natural.”
That comfort has turned into loyalty. For over 14 years, Kenneth has grown his professional driving career, and he credits Maverick’s culture and leadership as key reasons he has stayed. “They treat me well. Maverick is a great company.”
Beyond the road, family remains his top priority. Much of Kenneth’s time outside of work is spent supporting his loved ones. "They always need me for something,” he said with a laugh. He also prioritizes fitness, enjoying regular workouts to stay strong and healthy.
For new drivers, especially fellow veterans, he offers practical advice:
“Learn patience. Learn how to control your temper. Being out on the road is stressful. You must adjust your expectations.”
Today, he takes pride not only in his own journey but in representing a company that actively honors military service. "I'm proud to represent Maverick — a company willing to dedicate resources to honor the armed forces. There’s real respect here for those who have served, are serving, and will serve.” Through discipline forged in the Army and a career built in trucking, his story reflects the strength, dedication, and perseverance that continue to drive Maverick Transportation forward.
